This is the hilt of a keris.
Keris is a malay sword or dagger if you say so. There are various sizes of keris but it is short and easy to carry around. Once a person stab another's stomach, there's a small hook where when you pull out the keris, the intestines will follow.

This hilt was made of an elephant's tusk.
