Good trip, bad news.

My mother made us go on a last minute 2 days 2 nights trip to Cameron Highlands(Pahang, Malaysia). It was a good trip. We ate a lot and saw a lot of vegetables... Not many flowers there now since the people there concerntrate on Strawberries and vegetables I suppose. But then again those are farms by the main road. Those inside the jungles... We don't have a 4 wheel drive to drive in to the farms there.

Of course being an owner of a camera... Photos will be uploaded after I finish some small editing(cropping, change picture size, and put in copyright thingy).

That was the good news.

Now, the bad news.

At 12am 5th June 2008, petrol price in Malaysia will increase from RM1.72 per litre to RM2.70 per litre. Which is great because we just came back on the day they announced the price increase. Even better was that the annnouncement was made during the 8pm news. It is now 9pm, the petrol stations in my housing area are having traffic jams of their own.

So it was good that we went for that trip then because after that high of a price for petrol alone, I don't think we'll go on another trip at all for a couple or more years... Price of rice already increased last month and with the increase in petrol price, everything else will follow by end of this week.

Maybe I should start hunting for a room in Cyberjaya... Then no car to drive. NOOOOOO!!!!

Those weird titles which has some kind of code were stuff that I did for my assignments for this semester. One is my elective subject call Model Making where I have to model a scorpion using real metal wires, the other is my core subject call Virtual Reality Design 1 where I have to create a virtual environment based on a nursery rhyme. I had to create the characters, environment, props, animation and audio for it. The concept board, storyboard and characters have been uploaded, the environment and props will upload it later. They have been "improved" after the final presentation. Used different lighting system in Max.

Programmes i used:

2D Illustration and texture creation:
Adobe Illustrator CS2
Adobe Photoshop CS2

3D Modeling:
3Ds Max 9

VRML authoring tool and viewer:
Cosmo World 2.0
Cortona Player

Audio recoding and editing:
Cakewalk Sonar
Sony Vegas

I multi-genre. I don't stick to photography only. I will occasionally upload something which were not taken using a physical camera.

List to do?

This is the last week of the semester and it is more like a presentation and submission week for my faculty. Next two weeks will be exam week. There's only 4 final exams which carries 30% to 40% of marks for each subjects. 2 subjects were 100% assignment marks.

Then three weeks of holiday which only then I can go out and take photos and practice using 3DS Max and maybe go into Virtools a bit. Those are the main softwares those majoring in virtual reality are using.

Location for photography would most likely include Putrajaya Boulevard and some place in Kuala Lumpur area. Maybe Melacca and Penang Island would be in the list but it would depend if there's anyone who wants to follow me there since it is in another state...

When the core subject's presentation and submission was over yesterday, it feels like the other subjects are peanuts to complete... A heavy load was lifted off the shoulder and I was so happy not to meet the lecturers anymore until next semester. Weird...

Bloody hell... My face is itchy, my back is itchy, my arms are alright but it was attacked by mosquitoes the whole time while I was in the botanical garden anyway...<.<

It's weird that those people didn't put any tags to some of the plants. So there's going to be a lot of Untitled photos...>.> I'll finish uploading the ones I took earlier first.

Break in

Always be careful to lock everything up in your house. Two bastards tried to break into my house this afternoon. My mother sent my sister to bus stop, I was in university, my brother went to his friend's house. My father was in and he heard all that noise that those people trying to break in. He scared away those two by banging everything he could bang a.k.a. make a lot of noise. He is, after all, still resting. He didn't tell any of us about that incident. We got to know about it from some other people who saw those two trying to break in.

So, conclusion, always make sure you lock everything, put your things in your room and lock your rooms. While it can't exactly prevent thieves from breaking the doors down, at least you are able to stall time and weaken them even though it is a hassle to unlock everything again when you return.

Going to Putrajaya Botanical Garden again tomorrow :)
